FAQs

WHY IS YOUR COFFEE THE BEST?

We love coffee, the coffee business, and providing a quality product to other coffee lovers.  We start with green coffee beans organically grown by some of the great farms in the world.  Using the best commercial roasters, we then carefully roast with quality and consistency in mind.  After packaging your order in a clean environment with extra precautions, we ship you freshly roasted beans within a day or two of being roasted.  When your coffee arrives at your door it will typically never be more than a week old.  That’s as good as it gets.  With this process, performed with care and pride, Radiant Coffee Company delivers the freshest and finest coffee in America.

WHERE DO YOUR COFFEE BEANS ORIGINATE FROM?

We feature organically grown coffee from countries around the world such as Honduras, Guatemala, Vietnam, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Papua New Guinea and Ethiopia.

WHAT IS YOUR ROAST SCHEDULE?

We aim to supply our customers with coffee roasted within the past two days, and deliver weekly. This means you are never drinking coffee older than a week. We want to ensure that you are tasting the coffee to its fullest potential.

HOW IS THE COFFEE PACKAGED?

Coffee beans are packed in an attractive, sealed bag immediately after roasting to preserve freshness.  Individual bags are then packed into a box for shipping.  Radiant Coffee isn’t bagged in flashy, printed bags so that we can pass that savings along to you.

CAN I ORDER BEANS ONLINE AND PICK THEM UP?

Currently no, but wholesale accounts may make arrangements to do this.  Additional options may be considered in the future.

WHAT ARE MY PAYMENT OPTIONS?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and Diners Club.  All payments are securely processed through Square.

IS MY CREDIT CARD PURCHASE SECURE?

Yes.  Our website encrypts your communications using SSL certificate to prevent criminals from stealing sensitive information like your credit card numbers and passwords.  Without an SSL certificate, your information would be exposed and easily accessible by cyber criminals.  Payments are processed by Square, an industry leading eCommerce platform that practices secure data handling.  From the time you use a credit card or enter your information, payment data is encrypted until it reaches Square’s processing environment. Square’s proprietary tokenization scheme ensures that unencrypted payment data never touches our servers or application.

HOW MUCH DOES SHIPPING COST?

Radiant Coffee Company offers flat rate shipping for all roasted bean retail orders within the lower 48 States based on the destination, order weight, and shipping service.  We also offer free delivery to select local zip codes in the Eugene and Portland areas.

WHERE DO YOU SHIP?

We currently ship within the lower 48 States.

WHEN WILL MY COFFEE BE SHIPPED?

Depending on our roasted coffee inventory, which is never more than a few days old, we may be able to ship orders same day or soon after.  Otherwise, if your order is received Monday-Friday, it will be roasted that weekend and will typically ship on the following Monday or Tuesday.  Holidays will possibly affect shipping schedules.

HOW LONG DOES SHIPPING TAKE?

USPS Priority Mail ships in 1-4 business days depending on where in the country you live. Please note we do not control shipping times and USPS is not always reliable even when it says “1 day shipping”.

HOW CAN I TRACK MY ORDER?

We will send the tracking information to the email address associated with your order once the item has shipped.

HOW CAN I CHANGE MY ORDER AFTER IT’S BEEN PLACED?

Since the turnaround time on packages is typically fast, changing or canceling an order after it’s been placed can be difficult. We recommend emailing (customerservice@radiantcoffeeco.com) IMMEDIATELY if there is an issue with your order. Your email should include CANCEL/CHANGE ORDER #_____ in the subject line. Our customer service team is available for immediate order changes Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM PT. We will always do our best to make sure that you’ll get what you need, but we cannot guarantee that we will be able to change your order in time before it ships out.

WHERE CAN I BUY RADIANT COFFEE COMPANY PRODUCTS?

Currently, you can buy Radiant Coffee Company products through our website, and at local markets in the Eugene and Portland areas.  You can also purchase through select local CSA groups, and on weekends at Montavilla Farmers Market.

HOW LONG WILL MY COFFEE BE FRESH?

Our beans are shipped in sealed bags to maximize freshness. Once opened, the beans will be fresh for several weeks if stored properly. Please remember to grind right before brewing.

HOW SHOULD I STORE MY COFFEE?

Light, oxygen and humidity are enemies to coffee beans. You can extend the freshness of your coffee by keeping it stored in the airtight bag it comes in. Keep it in a cool, dark place, but not in the freezer or refrigerator since coffee will absorb flavors around it, or the thawed bean will result in added moisture.

HOW DO I MAKE THE COFFEE?

Water represents 98% of every cup, therefore we recommend you use cold bottled or filtered water. Do not use distilled or softened water as it impairs the flavor. Use 2 tablespoons of ground for each 6-ounce cup of coffee. (Using too few grounds can actually make it taste bitter! Never boil coffee as this adds bitterness! Do not reuse coffee grounds once they have been brewed.) To serve: Drink the coffee within 20 minutes of brewing for the best flavor and aroma. Letting it sit over 20 minutes impairs the flavor.

ARE OILY BEANS GOOD?

No! Oils should be on the inside of the bean, otherwise they become rancid. Oily coffee typically is the result of over-roasted coffee. Fresh, properly roasted coffee will look dry, not oily or shiny.

DO YOU SELL GREEN BEANS?

No.

WHAT IS YOUR RETURN/CANCELATION POLICY?

Unfortunately we do not offer returns unless the wrong coffee was shipped. Once a payment is processed, we cannot refund money.

DO YOU SELL IN LARGER QUANTITIES THAN 16 OUNCE BAGS?

Yes! We offer roasted beans in 5 pound bags for wholesale accounts or bulk individual orders.
